Denga Ivan Andreevich 1432-1454, Mozhaisk Principality
The diameter and thickness for “scale” coins (these are coins before 1700) are approximate, they are common to all coins.
Before the death of Andrei Dmitrievich 1389-1432, the Principality of Mozhaisk included the Principality of Verei. After the death of Andrei Dmitrievich, the Mozhaisk principality was divided between his two sons: Ivan Andreevich and Mikhail Andreevich. Mozhaisk went to Ivan, and the city of Vereya went to Mikhail. In 1427, a plague epidemic swept through the Mozhaisk principality, and there were several periods of famine. The Mozhaisk principality ceased to exist in 1493, since the Moscow prince Ivan III imprisoned the last prince of Mozhaisk and from that time on it was included in the Moscow principality. At the end of the 15th century, many appanage principalities ceased to exist, uniting into larger ones - Moscow, Tver....
Under Ivan Andreevich, coins began to be minted in a lighter weight than those minted by his father Andrei Dmitrievich (1389-1432). Ivan Andreevich waged internecine wars together with Dmitry Shemyaka against the Moscow principality. In 1454, Moscow Prince Vasily II the Dark went to conquer Mozhaisk. Before the arrival of the troops, Ivan Andreevich fled from Vasily II the Dark to Lithuania, where he subsequently lived with his entire family. Vasily II the Dark annexed the Mozhaisk principality to the Moscow principality in 1454.
