Medal established by decree of Emperor Nicholas October 11, 1829 By
orders to the troops it was intended to honor all orders
Russian army (from soldiers to generals), as well as non-combatant lower ranks,
who were directly involved in combat operations during the
war with Turkey during 1828-1829.
On the front side (obverse) - Image Orthodox six-pointed cross, surrounded by
divine radiance. Cross set to the symbol of Muslims prostrate
- Crescent. On the right and on the left marked the date - "1828" and "1829." on
back side (reverse): the inscription in large letters in 3 lines: "For =
Turkish war ", underlined the bottom curly horizontal line.
The inscription is surrounded with a laurel wreath, which tied at the bottom with tape.
